Victory for 171 at Summit Point Team Challenge

Another light grid for the GTL class filled with LWT Racer teams. Like NJMP, all the teams (4) were heading out from the same pit. The start of the race had teams in a panic on what to do with tires as the iffy weather left the racers with a damp track for the start of the race. As the skies cleared so did the race track. Nik Heid on the LWT 76 opened up an early lead over LWT 216 in 2nd and LWT 171 in 3rd. The #60 SFV had a chain break on the warm up lap forcing the team to start 18 laps down. While LWT 60 (Doane Richardson, Paul Dougherty, and Sean Dougherty) managed to make up 5 laps on LWT 76 (Nik Heid, Joey Mink, Yuttichai Yasothonsrikul, 3 laps on LWT 216 (Anthony Rosati, John Dodson, Jeff Bugno), the 18 lap deficient did not change to the race winners Todd Alberico and Benjamin Loyle who increased their series points lead over LWT 60, 131 points vs 88 points with LWT 216 creeping up into third in the standings with 79 points.

VIR becomes the next obstacle for the ASRA Team Challenge competitors.
