I asked MotoAmerica Twins Cup championship rivals Chris Parrish and Jason Madam the same set of questions. Here they are side by side.
They were each asked to supply a photo of them competing in the series and each of them gave me a photo with them in front of the other. Should tell you a bit about this 2018 Twins cup rivalry.

1: Why are you racing MA Twins? |
Chris: Had to, period. I’ve been racing twins for 13 years and there wasn’t a reason not to. I went broke and behind on bills, but I was determined to be a part of the show!! | Jason: after 15 years of club Racing I really wanted to run a full national season and the opportunity came up through Andy for the ride. |
2: Best thing about your rival? |
Chris: Jason is a clean rider. Doesn’t do stupid stuff. | Jason: Parrish is a clean rider and we get along off track. Makes the racing exciting. |
3: Worst thing about your rival? |
Chris: Hes on a faster bike. Makes me work harder which is good. | Jason: He’s fast for an old guy… He gets a lot of attention because he’s known on the 650s |
4: How does your strong suit match up against your rival’s? |
Chris: Knowing more tracks and knowing the bike gives me a bit of an edge. | Jason: I’m a corner speed small cc rider (R3) as is Parrish , we have close Racing almost every time |
5: If you guys would swap your machines at a round, do you think the results would be any different? Let’s use Sonoma/Sears Point as an example. |
Chris: Ive never been to Sonoma so i cant really say. However, i dont think bike would be a factor. Jason and me learn quick so its a toss… | Jason: My bike is faster but his handles better in my opinon so it’s a trade off. |
6: What do you think would create a larger grid? |
Chris: Larger Displacement on the SV and zero homog swaps. Too many club racers with illegal engines are already put out for a quick grid in their region | Jason: More publicly for the class |
7: Out of the other guys who have competed this year, which one do you wish would be at every round battling you two? |
Chris: Nobody specific, i’ve enjoyed racing with every person that has made a Twins Cup grid! | Jason: Danielle Diaz, Xaiver Zayat, and Dustin Dominguez. |
8: Are you happy with the season thus far? |
Chris: Absolutely! The most fun i’ve ever had racing thus far! You cannot beat being a part of the big show! | Jason: I’m happy to be fighting for podiums and at the sharp end of the races for sure! |
9: 2019? |
Chris: If MA continues Twins Cup, no doubt I’ll be on the roster! N2/WERA endurance as well. | Jason: Hoping to have my own bike for 19 if the class continues. |
10: Thank your sponsors and supporters. |
Chris: Copoulus Built / RBoM, Wingmans Garage, Baseline Motorsports, Red Fox Racing, V02 Leathers, Shoei Helmets, TWF Racing, M4 Exhaust, TYGA Products, & Hotbodies Racing | Jason: Huge thanks to conquest CBD and Altus Motorsports for the opportunity to ride this Yamaha; Andy Palmer at AP motoarts , scorpion helmets , spy , janman leathers , just to name a few … |
