After 13 years, 1 month, and 10 days, the lightweight twins lap Road America lap record is broken. Established on April 23rd, 2006 by Ed Key on his Suzuki SV650 during an ASRA Thunderbike race, his time of 2.30.213 has finally been topped.
During the MotoAmerica Twins race on the last lap, Kris Turner set a lap time to the tune of 2:29.702. Turner was the only rider to be under the lap record in the race. The #38’s fastest time was nearly a second quicker than anyone else on the track.
