Workshop : Check SV650 Valve Clearances

Intake Range .004″ – .008″ (.102mm – .203mm)
Exhaust Range .008″ – .012″ (.203mm – .305mm)

When I go to actually get them all in spec, they all get set to .010″

How to get the shim you want.
A = Clearance You want
B = Clearance You have
A – B = C

D = Shim you have
E = Shim you want
D – C = E

If we use the data from the video our math looks like this
A = .254mm
B = .203mm

.254 – .204 = .051

D = 1.620

1.620 – 0.051 = 1.569mm

E = 1.569 = Shim you want

In this case you could just use a 155 shim
